I am so excited to welcome you to Wood Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year! This year will not just focus on academics, but enjoying school.
When you arrive at school on your child’s first day (see bell schedule below), please check in at the office. All information is sent from our school electronically. Attendance - If your child is going to be absent, please report your child’s absence. We’ve made it easy to report absences and have the following options available:

Registration - Must be completed on PowerSchool (https://ps.tusd.org) as soon as possible. This is different and in addition to your enrollment. If you need help creating or accessing your account, please click here: help sheet. Attached to your email is the letter that you should have received with account information. Please note that if you use a cell phone, you need to use an internet browser to register.
Nutrition Services Information - All students will get free school meals, and we ask that each family complete a Universal Benefits application. This helps Wood Elementary get much needed state and federal funding. Each family is asked to complete the form, and consult the TUSD Nutrition Services website, www.tusd.org/nutrition-services for monthly menus and additional information.
PTA - Our PTA provides so many important and fun ways to support our school. Please consider becoming a member and learning more by clicking on Wood Elementary School PTA | Get Involved.
Volunteers - To truly reap the benefits of a strong home-school connection, we hope you will consider joining us as a volunteer. Research shows our students greatly benefit from your involvement and our school flourishes with your contributions to Wood’s programs and operations. Bell Schedule - The campus opens for students to eat breakfast and play on the playground at 8:30 a.m. Also, breakfast will still be available at the 10:30 recess for students who missed it earlier. Following is the regular schedule for all grades. Supervision of students begins at 8:30 a.m. Students should not arrive before 8:30 a.m. When school is dismissed, parents should promptly pick up their students. Valet Drop Off - Available on 235th Street from 8:30am-9:00am. This is a convenient and safe way to help students arrive at school.
YMCA Childcare - I am happy to report the YMCA is open at Wood. Please see this flyer for the YMCA childcare program that is offered before and after school.
TUSD DevELOPment Academy - Please check out the ELOP website for information about their afterschool program here at Wood.
Spirit Assemblies - Spirit assemblies will occur every Monday at 9:00 a.m. on the blacktop. We encourage students to wear their Wood Spirit Wear or blue to show their school spirit.
School News and parent information - All of our communication is sent to you electronically. Please make sure you notify us of email changes and make sure our school is listed as a safe sender.
