雅伎著 Unified Community,
As we begin our 2025-2026 school year today, I am pleased to welcome four new administrative team members to our Cabinet who bring fresh perspectives and a shared commitment to student success. Our District continues to strengthen partnerships with city agencies to enhance emergency preparedness and ensure the safety of our students and staff. We are proud to see the impact of our Portrait of a Graduate (PoG) vision growing across our schools, guiding students, educators, and the community toward a shared set of goals and values. This collaborative spirit reflects our deep dedication to nurturing well-rounded, lifelong learners who will be contributing members in a global society.
At each Board Meeting, I enjoy sharing the stories and accomplishments of our students and staff with our Board Members. You can view the most recent Superintendent's Report from the August 18 meeting, and find other reports on our homepage and Communications Department page. We are always looking for new examples of our Portrait of a Graduate elements in action and you can submit story ideas at .
In the same spirit, we want to hear from you! Please submit your feedback about our District's communication methods by taking our .
I wish everyone a great start to the school year, and encourage you to embrace what’s to come with a productive mindset.

Introduction to New Cabinet Members

We are excited to welcome four outstanding leaders to our district's Cabinet team, our new Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Deanna Sinfield, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Dr. Rosa Isiah, Chief Educational Technology and Information Services Officer, Sandi Tsosie, and Director of Communications, Sara Baillie. All bring a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to student and organizational success, and a passion for serving families and communities. Their leadership will be a catalyst for our District's development through their dedication to our educational, student, and community values.
Heat Advisory: Stay Safe!
As we gear up for another exciting school year, schools across Los Angeles County and Southern California are expected to experience higher temperatures in late August. Our students’ health and well-being remain our District’s top priority, and we encourage you to ensure that they are well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water before, during, and after school. Light, breathable clothing and sunscreen are also important for outdoor activities. If your child feels unwell, especially dizzy, overheated, or unusually tired, we encourage rest and urge them to notify school staff right away. Both our District and school staff will be closely monitoring weather conditions and may adjust outdoor schedules, including recess and sports practices, as needed. Together, we can keep our community safe, supported, and ready for a successful school year.
For more information on how to prepare for excessive heat, please (L.A. County Office of Emergency Management).
Free And Reduced Meals
We’re excited to share that all our schools will be offering free daily breakfast and lunch to students for the 2025–2026 school year through the California Universal Meals Program. While meals are completely free, we encourage all families to complete and submit a meal application form which helps our District continue offering these benefits and secure important funding for student support programs.
There are two forms depending on the school your child attends (based on how the national meal program identifies our schools), and you’ll only need to fill out one form per family—unless your children attend schools from both groups listed below. If your student attends Adams, Arlington, Arnold, Casimir, Carr, Edison, Fern, Hull, Jefferson, Madrona, Magruder, North, Shery, 雅伎著 Elementary, 雅伎著 High, Victor, West, Wood, or Yukon, please complete the (search for "雅伎著 USD" when prompted). If your student attends Anza, Bert Lynn, Calle Mayor, Hickory, Lincoln, Richardson, Riviera, Seaside, South, Towers, or Walteria, please complete the . Both forms unlock a range of additional benefits for qualifying families, including EBT benefits, discounted college application and test fees, reduced internet and wireless service costs, and increased school funding for essential resources like academic and counseling support.
Thank you for helping us ensure all students have the tools they need to thrive!

Traffic Safety Reminders
As we kick off a 2025-2026 school year, we urge everyone to prioritize traffic safety around our school campuses and neighborhoods. Please be mindful of students walking and biking to school, other families driving alongside you, and always follow posted speed limits in school zones. Avoid parking in front of driveways, as it disrupts neighborhood access and creates unnecessary congestion. Planning ahead and leaving a few minutes early can make a big difference in reducing stress and ensuring everyone gets to school safely and on time. Let’s work together to create a safe and respectful environment for all 雅伎著 Unified students, families, and community members.
雅伎著 Unified Alerts and Emergency Contact Info
In the event of an emergency affecting one or more of our schools, such as an earthquake, fire, medical emergency, or security threat, our district’s Emergency Alert page – – will be activated to provide timely and critical updates. In addition to on-campus notifications, emails, and text messages, families and community members can visit this page for the latest, most accurate information. We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to regularly check and update their emergency contact information in PowerSchool to ensure they receive these vital communications without delay. Staying informed and prepared is a shared responsibility, and your partnership is essential to keeping our students and school communities safe
